The Scalabrini Soup Kitchen is now busy three times a week with two different programs. On Wednesdays Project Manager Daniele Boccalon, Kitchen Manager Letitia Nzaba Koutia (see picture together with volunteer Simba) and their team of volunteers continue to cook for the clients of our Welcoming Program as well as for anyone else who is in need of a warm meal. There is enough food for approximately 150 people and the cost per meal is 50 Cents. On Tuesdays and Thursdays the kitchen is open and free of charge for about 50 people coming from The Carpenter’s Shop on Roeland Street where homeless people get the chance to freshen themselves up. In our dining room they have the opportunity to participate in activities such as a therapeutic art workshop or watching motivational and informative movies and presentations.
